A recent reviewer wrote: Chef Emma Hearst can seriously cook. Musts are the fried veal sweetbreads, pate de fegato, gnocchi, tajarin, carpaccio and potatoes & pork cracklins. For dessert, the salty caramel gelati/sorbetti and bicerin.

Sorella is known as a contemporary Italian restaurant. This restaurant is often overlooked by the louder interests who tout some other Manhattan restaurant standards like the River Cafe and One if by Land as NYC's most romantic restaurant. There are some foodies in town who would give that title to this lower east side restaurant gem.

Skipping 2011 for a variety of reasons, the renowned festival of all-things-pickle wll re-emerge from its short hiatus on April 29, 2012, a Sunday.
