It first gained its notoriety for its vast immigrant population in the 1800s and early 1900s. It was the most dense population on the planet at that time. Skipping 2011 for a variety of reasons, the renowned festival of all-things-pickle wll re-emerge from its short hiatus on April 29, 2012, a Sunday.
