How about one of the friendly neighborhood places where everybody knows your name? Corny huh?

OK, how about a place where no one cares what your name is? Ah, ha! That's more like it. Boss Tweed's is a fun loving casual place to tie on a few drinks anytime of the day or night. No fights please. No crying, just set 'em up Joe and keep it coming.

Yeah, we say no crying, but now and then a late night heart gets broken and someone looks at someone the wrong way and well, if you have been to one of these kind of places anywhere in the world you know how it goes. Boss Tweed's is well set up in the neighborhood -- happy hour specials, ladies nights, bar games tournaments (Flip Cup for charity, shown below). Come on down! flip cup

Doughnut Plant Doughing (Going) North to Plant new Sweetness Uptown

NEW YORK - June 2013 — Starting as a small baked good business in a tiny basement, then expanding through generations over the years and steamrolling its way northward through Manhattan is Donut Plant. The lower east side will always be home to Doughnut Plant, the bakery with the specialty in mouth-watering and creative donuts. After successfully exanding uptown to the Chelsea Hotel, the DPlant has always expanded its lower east side location.

The time seems ripe and the donuts seem well cooked enough for phase two of the sweet company's march northward. Doughnut Plant is rumored to be looking energetically to expand either north east or north west to the upper west side or the upper east side. Retail rents all over Manhattan are absolutely not-to-be-believed, but we hope the sweet folks at this lower east side tourist attraction are ready for retail sticker shock from the established landlords of the upper environs of the borough of Manhattan.
