Doughnut Plant Doughing (Going) North to Plant new Sweetness Uptown
NEW YORK - May 2013 — Beginning decades ago in a tiny basement and expaning through generations over the years and steamrolling -- or steambunning -- its way northward through Manhattan is Donut plant. The lower east side will always be home to Doughnut Plant, the bakery with the specialty in mouth-watering and creative donuts. After successfully exanding uptown to the Chelsea Hotel, the DPlant has always expanded its lower east side location.
The time seems ripe and the donuts seem well cooked enough for phase two of the sweet company's march northward. Doughnut Plant is rumored to be actively looking to expand either north east or north west to the upper west side or the upper east side. Retail rents all over Manhattan are absolutely not-to-be-believed, but we hope the sweet folks at this lower east side tourist attraction are ready for retail sticker shock from the established landlords of the upper environs of the borough of Manhattan.
