A laid back Parisian bistro with as many authentic touches as any other in NYC. Menu: cassoulet, steak au poivre, steak tartare, salad nicoise, lamb shank, blanquette de veau grand mere, coq a vin, quail and ale, fish du jour.
Authentic French can mean slow service. If you are in a rush, this may not be the best choice for you. But if you are visiting the Lower East Side Tenement Museum, this might be a good call for lunch.
