Kush Lounge is a lower east side lounge. Some people call it a nightclub, but we tend to consider large spaces to be "nightclubs" and Kush is not a large space.
Kush is one of the nicer Arabian / Middle Eastern / Moroccan themed restaurant / lounges in the city. There are others in the city that are flat out tacky, but Kush hired talented designers early on. The result is a small labyrinth of rooms, none particularly large, that serve as a mysterious series low lit chambers.
While the restaurant began its life as a hookah themed bar and offered a large assortment of fruit flavored hookashs, the smoking thing has passed here and has been replaced by focus on parties and event planning. Management has changed hands and to emphasize the changing direction, Kush has even moved its location to its Chrystie Street location from the famous Orchard Street origins.
Kush benefits from its proximity to The Box and its almost impossible door policy. Those who can't get into the Box have an easier time with the Kush door.
