Sammy’s Roumanian is the iconic Jewish steakhouse on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The namesake is Sammy Friedman who was a waiter at Parkway (the predecessor restaurant at this location), then turned into the owner at this location on Chrystie when Parkway moved uptown.

Old Jewish style of cooking and menu selections. A very good New York eggcream -- you must order one when you go to Sammy's Roumanian. And the steak, too!
